LET'S GO! ... PARENT GUIDE

Dear Parents,

At Let’s Go! Multi Sports Camps, your child is our primary concern. We have, over the years, designed the best multi sports summer day camp available in Ireland. We combine structured educational sessions with the fun and games synonymous with summer camps. At Let’s Go! we aim to positively contribute to your child’s education.

We pride ourselves on our child friendly, professional staff who are trained to ensure the needs of all our campers are met. The emphasis on all our camps is on taking part. Our daily programme is designed to ensure excitement, fun and variety in each day. We are proud of our camps, they have been tried and tested and we know that our programme will offer your child a very worthwhile experience.

Registration and Group Organisation

Registration will take place on the first morning of the camp. Each child will be allocated a group for the week.

Being in the right group is very important to children. It is very important to us too! Children are grouped according to their age. This is by far the most practical method when one has to organise a range of creative and physical activities. Children often ask to be placed with their brother/sister/friend. We will try and accomodate this request but cannot always guarantee that we will be able to do so. Please note that  some activities on our programme are physically challenging and it is not always appropriate to have children of various ages in the one group. Please do not worry as this system is tried and tested and works well.

Following registration, group rolls will be taken; our Camp Manager will welcome the children, introduce our staff and brief them on the week’s activities. It is our aim that activities will commence no later than 10:30am.

Friends:
Should your child not have a friend going to camp do not worry, as our staff will introduce your child to new friends during our start the day icebreaker activities. Remember summer camp is all about making new friends and having fun.

Lunch:
There will be two breaks each day. As the children may be more active than usual it is essential that they are taking enough fuel on board. They will need to bring a packed lunch and 3-4 non fizzy drinks. We have a number of children attending camp with allergies, we ask that you please refrain from providing your children with any nut products.

Break and lunchtime are fully supervised by our staff.

Hot Weather:
Children should wear a sun hat. Apply sun cream prior to camp. Children will be reminded to reapply their sun cream during the day. Please advise your children on the application of sun cream .

Wet Weather:
If the weather is inclement, please ensure your child has appropriate RAINWEAR as activities will run as scheduled.

Clothing & Footware:
Please ensure that your child brings a long sleeve top and tracksuit bottoms each day as it is a requirement for certain activities. All children must wear runners to the camp each day. If your child has long hair for health and safety, please ensure it is tied up daily. Each child will have an opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities throughout the week (Please note that for Health & Safety reasons children may be asked to remove shoes, socks, peaked caps on some activities). Appropriate sports eyeware should be worn on camp. Lets go will not be responsible for any loss or damage to eyeglasses on camp.

Lost Property:
Each evening any lost property will be displayed in the hall. Please ensure that all your child’s belongings are labelled.

Mobile Phones:
Children should not bring mobile phones to camp. Should they require them after camp, they must remain powered off in their bags. We are not responsible for lost or damaged phones.

Going Home:
Camp ends at 3.30 p.m. In the interest of safety, children will leave the hall each evening in their groups accompanied by our staff. All children must be collected at the collection point by a Parent/Guardian. To avoid congestion, we will stagger this process. The oldest group will leave first (younger children on camp will be allowed to exit with their older siblings) and will be followed in turn by all other groups.

Photographs/Video:
Photographs and videos may be taken at the camp for promotional reasons.
